MASK PROTOCOL

The Coronavirus Covid 19 Pandemic has been with us now for a year.  During this year, many policies and protocols have been put in place to reduce the risk of spreading the virus such as the wearing of a mask and using hand sanitizer when entering premises such as shops, dentists and GP practices.  We are one of those practices.

The wearing of a mask does not only protect you, it also protects those around you.

At the GP Practice we have a Duty of Care for you and for other patients and our staff.  You will be asked to wear a mask when you enter the practice and when you see the nurse or GP.  They may ask you to remove your mask but you should only do so when directed.

If you decline to wear a mask when asked to do so by our reception staff, they will offer you the opportunity to wear a transparent visor.  If you decline this offer, you will be asked to wait outside, even if you declare an exemption.  The reception staff will inform the health professional with whom you have an appointment of your arrival and that you are waiting outside as you have declined to wear a mask or visor.  The health professional will come to the door and take you straight through to their consulting room.

However, the health professional still has the right to refuse to see you if you do not wear a mask or visor.
