Travel Vaccines

If you require a vaccine to travel, you must complete our Travel Vaccine form at least 6 weeks prior to your date of travel. This is to allow the nurse to determine what vaccines you require and allow time for you to book an appointment in time for them to be given. Vaccinations should usually be given at least 4 weeks prior to travel. Please note that this service is free for:

  • Diphtheria/Tetanus
  • Poliomyelitis
  • MMR/Rubella
  • Cholera
  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid and Paratyphoid
  • Smallpox

This service does not cover Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis or Tick-borne Encephalitis. If you require these vaccines, you are advised to attend the Travel Centre at St James Business Centre, Linwood Road, Paisley, PA3 3AT and the telephone number there is 0141 889 7656.

Please note that requests for lists of previous vaccinations will be charged.

Blood Tests / Swabs / Urine or Faecal Samples

After you have tests done, please call the medical centre to receive your results and any further action required. You should call after 5 days to allow results to be received and reviewed by a GP.

A results service will be available between 11 am and 6 pm daily. Please telephone the surgery on the normal number. Results will not be given across the reception desk due to confidentiality issues.

If you are informed that you must speak to the doctor or nurse about your results, please ask the receptionist to make a telephone appointment with the appropriate person. You will be called back at the appointment time you have chosen.  Remember that at times clinician will run a little late so your call back may not be at the exact time you have chosen.

Remember, if your result is urgent, the doctor or nurse will call you. If you cannot be contacted, a letter will be sent to your home.
